We’re pleased to introduce our neospace coffee partner, Matthew Algie. Not just experts in all things coffee, Matthew Algie boast industry leading sustainability and ethical sourcing credentials.
Matthew Algie are true masters with decades of experience in coffee sourcing and roasting. Established in 1864, the Glasgow-based coffee roasters have a strong commitment to ethically sourcing their coffee beans. A passion for sustainable coffee is at the heart of what they do and they led the industry as the first to introduce Fairtrade espresso beans to the UK & Ireland. Alongside this they were the first roastery in the world to achieve One Carbon World’s Carbon Neutral International Standard, having worked closely with One Carbon World to verify their carbon footprint and offset their emissions.
Recycling and reusing as much as possible has supported Matthew Algie in maintaining a sustainable production of coffee. Their Glasgow roastery operates a zero waste to landfill policy and they offset their emissions by purchasing certified credits from a tree planting project in Uruguay and a wind energy project in India. Committed to supporting their coffee producers Matthew Algie has developed close relationships with their suppliers across the world, working alongside the producers to help them achieve certifications. Not only has this helped their farmers operate more sustainably but it has improved the overall quality of the coffee beans produced.
Each batch is crafted and sampled by an experienced team to ensure that each coffee blend is of the highest standard. With over 150 years’ experience, Matthew Algie are dedicated to making a difference and producing the perfect cup of coffee.
Neospace are proud to be serving Matthew Algie coffee and look forward to welcoming you to enjoy a cup with us soon.
